Carinya Home fete celebrates seniors
CARINYA Home for the Aged will be a hive of activity on Saturday morning, when it hosts the Seniors Month Fete.

Residents and the community can come together to celebrate from 8am to 12 noon, the fete will feature market stalls, face painting, live music, and a free morning tea.
Everybody is welcome at the fete, which will be held at the home’s grounds, at 1 Mazlin St Atherton.
The event is one of many throughout Queensland marking Seniors Month which has been running for more than six decades.
First initiated in October 1960 by the Council of the Ageing, and known as Old People’s Week, it has grown to a month-long celebration which promotes positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing, enhances community connections and celebrates older Queenslanders and their ongoing contribution to the state.
