Cattle handling and judging registration open
REGISTRATIONS are open for the 2026 Malanda Show Beef Cattle Handling and Judging School.
The Malanda Show Society presents the three-day, hands-on training experience which is designed to build confidence, practical skills, and a strong understanding of the beef cattle showring.
Held at the Malanda Showgrounds from 15-17 May, the school provides participants with the opportunity to work directly with cattle in a real show environment while learning from experienced instructors and industry representatives.
Over the course of the weekend, participants gain practical experience in selecting, breaking-in and training cattle; feeding and daily preparation; washing, grooming and clipping; parading, ringcraft and show presentation; understanding judges’ expectations and stewarding instructions; and preparing both cattle and exhibitors for competition.
The program is suitable for students aged 12 years and over, with adult participation also welcome.
