The Mareeba Rodeo Festival Queen Competition, which has been running for more than 60 years, is now open to unmarried females, aged 16-21 years.

The crowning of the Rodeo Queen and Princess takes place after the Downtown Parade, marking a highlight of the Rodeo Festival, which is on 10-11 July, and a moment eagerly awaited by the community.

For the entrants, the competition provides the opportunity to meet new people, build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun.

Annalisa Savaglio and Andrea Dati will again be Matrons of Honour who support the entrants throughout the process.

Entrants are judged on the qualities required to be a positive and confident ambassador for the Mareeba Rodeo and are required to attend all public events associated with the rodeo including the annual ball and the Cowpokes competition.

Judging will take place during an interview on Sunday, 5 July. At the interview, judges will determine each entrant’s knowledge regarding the Mareeba Rodeo and Mareeba region, their conversation skills and how they present themselves.

At the public events, judges will observe how each entrant conducts themselves through interactions with others, their public speaking skills and their appearance and manners.

For all the details or to enter the competition, go to www.mareebarodeo.com.au Entries close on 24 May.
