The Abundant Life, Baptist, Community of Hope and Royals churches banded together to host a Hope Gathering with free food, some drinks and music by local bands and even a Tongan Choir.

Many south pacific islander peoples live and work in Mareeba, some for extended periods of time due to Covid, so local Mareeba churches hosted the gathering to welcome them into the community and let them knows there are places of worship available to pray or just visit
