With The Express Newspaper’s KP Mango Competition coming to a close on Sunday January 31, there is still just enough time to register your monster mango for a chance to win some juicy prizes.

Currently we have had seven KP mangoes entered into the competition so far but there is still time to knock the heaviest mango off its pedestal.

First place will be rewarded with $500, second place with $300 and third place will get $200.

Currently Ben Stabile is holding the spot with his massive 1.502kg mango with Milan Maloberti following in second with a 1.210kg mango and Bill Bungan comes in third with 1.201kgs, see below for the full leaderboard.

  1.        Ben Stabile – 1.502kg

  2.        Milan Maloberti – 1.210kg

  3.        Bill Bungan – 1.201kg

  4.        Anna Maloberti – 1.171kg

  5.        Joe Moro – 1.142kg

  6.        Margarita Maloberti – 1.120kg

  7.        Weston Hilditch – 1.059kg

To see if your mango growing on your farm or in your backyard will take the spot of heaviest mango bring it into The Express for judging and consumption.

To be eligible for the KP Mango Competition the mango must be of the Kensington Pride (KP) variety, it must be photographed on electronic scales that clearly show the weight and it must be viewed by a member of The Express Newspaper team or Joe Moro from FNQ Growers.
