Changed traffic conditions Barron River bridge Kuranda

Changed traffic conditions are in place on the Barron River bridge on Kennedy Highway, near Kuranda. Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Director-General Neil Scales said the bridge had been reduced to one lane while TMR carried out inspections. "We have identified some issues which require further investigation," Mr Scales said. Mr Scales said further action may be needed depending on the outcome of the investigations. "We will keep road users up to date as soon as more information is available,” he said. Mr Scales said variable message signs (VMS) were installed on the bridge approaches to inform motorists of the changed conditions. "Traffic controllers and temporary traffic lights will assist with the single-lane operation,” he said. "We thank motorists for their patience as we go about this important work."
