Funding open to support businesses

THE Tablelands Regional Council (TRC) Economic Development Fund is now open for 2020 and is accepting applications.

THE Tablelands RegionalCouncil (TRC) Economic Development Fund is now openfor 2020 and is accepting applications. 

This fund allows organisations and businesses to use thefunding they receive to conduct projects, activities and events that will help grow business, investment and employment on the Tablelands. 

TRC Mayor Rod Marti isencouraging groups and businesses alike to apply for the$5,000 that is available through the $35,000 fund. 

“This important funding program supports initiatives that help grow the economy to support businesses and createmore jobs and economic opportunities,” he said. 

“It’s a great opportunity fornot-for-profit groups, such aschambers of commerce, industry groups and businesses looking to fund a cost-neutral community project. 

“If you have an idea that could help businesses grow, develop new skills, capture more visitor spending, plan for critical infrastructure, or attract investment to the region, make sure you apply.” 

The Malanda Chamber of Commerce used their funding from last year’s round to launch their shop local campaign and provide a street shopping night. 

The event was a massivesuccess with 1200 people flooding the street to participate andenjoy all of the shopping and entertainment on offer.
