IGA Cooktown named best meat department

IGA Cooktown has been recognised at the IGA Awards of Excellence that was held virtually via satellite on November 27.

IGA Cooktown recently beat out hundreds of other IGA stores across the country receiving the IGA Meat Department of the Year award at their ceremony held in November.

IGA Cooktown has been recognised at the IGA Awards of Excellence that was held virtuallyvia satellite on November 27.

IGA Cooktown beat out hundreds of IGA stores across thecountry winning the IGA Meat Department of the Year.

Due to the COVID border restrictions, the usual ceremony held on the Gold Coast had to be changed with events held inseveral places across the country. 

The winners were announced in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth all via a satellite linkwhere the separate ceremonies took place. 

CEO of Cornetts Supermarkets Graham Booysen feelsthat the award received by IGA Cooktown is well deserved. 

“It’s a fantastic recognition and reward for the amazing job they do in providing a great range of good quality meat to a remote community,” he said. 

“It’s a well-deserved award for the amazing work they do. 

“We never ever get com- plaints out of that store aboutanything to do with meat so the customers are very happy withthat department.” 

The meat department at IGA Cooktown has been described as consistently well stocked, in depth and with a width of range, ready to serve both locals and the seasonal traveller all beingpresented in an inviting and enticing manner. 

These awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of IGA stores and their teams across the country as they play a vital role in their local communities.
