Fresh Street Market IGA in Atherton has once again been awarded for their fresh produce at the IGA Queensland Conference and Awards night and gala at Hamilton Island.

Receiving the Fresh Produce of the Year Award for 2021 has given the store state-wide recognition.

People and Partnership Manager Matt Bowles said they are grateful to win the award being a small-town grocer.

“We were nominated for awards across every department as well as for ‘Store of the Year’ so we are pretty grateful for the recognition we have received for the work our team does,” he said.

“With new stores popping up everywhere it was stiff competition we are pretty happy to come away with the Produce Award and are excited to head off to the National Awards in July.

“The team at Fresh Street has great pride in supporting local and stocking majority fresh produce from the surrounding farms in the Tablelands,

“We try and stock as much local fresh produce all year round in our store, as we are very proud and passionate about providing local food,” Mr Bowles said.

“We always tried to get stuck into the season and bring in as much in-season food as possible.”

Mr Bowles will be going to the National Awards in July in the hopes of receiving the National Fresh Produce award.
