FAR North’s new tourist attraction Talaroo Hot Springs is officially off and running with many local dignitaries and officials attending the venue’s stellar recent formal opening.

“The opening (on Friday, August 13) was an incredible and exciting day for Ewamian People everywhere,” an excited Talaroo Hot Springs spokesperson told The Express.

“It was amazing to celebrate the hard work and dedication of so many people over so many years in achieving this great milestone.

“We’re so proud to showcase our very special and unique Talaroo Hot springs, promoting Ewamian culture and showcasing Ewamian country.

“Thank you to everyone who has made this possible and to everyone for all of your support.”

Located along the Savannah Way near Mt Surprise Talaroo Hot Springs has a range of offerings for visitors.

Hot Springs tours are accessible by doing a 45-minute ranger guided tour which among other things shares stories about Talaroo’s history, geology, ecology of the springs and contemporary work of Ewamian Rangers.

In the future guests will be able to explore other parts of the Talaroo Station property including the Einasleigh River and will be provided a mud map on arrival.

Guests will be able to stay in powered or unpowered sites with future plans to offer glamping tents and self contained cabins. In good news for pooch lovers, Talaroo will be a dog friendly location.
