TELPARA Hills is set to return after the record-breaking success of their inaugural cattle auction in 2020. The leaders in beef genetics will host their second ever on farm sale on the Tablelands next Saturday, September 18.

More than 120 cattle left their property during last year’s sale with a successful 100 percent clearance, selling 96 bulls and 35 Heifers.

This year the sale will be bigger and better with 114 bulls and 36 heifers up for grabs with hopes to make a another clear sale for the second year in a row.

Out of the near 300 buyers for last year’s sale only 76 were in person while the remaining 208 were registered online buyers.

Telpara Hills boasts an impressive line up of Brangus and Ultrablack bulls, so much so this this sale is one of the biggest of its kind in Queensland.

Stephen Pearce of Telpara Hills said that they had some tremendous success from their first sale last year and are looking to do the same if not better, this year.

“A lot of people have the misconception that you have to travel a long way to get the really good cattle,” he said.

“When in reality we have one of the world’s best Brangus herds and its right here on the Tablelands.

“The cattle industry is really thriving at the moment so we are very excited for the upcoming sale.”

After consistently dominating sale yards in Rockhampton and Roma, Telpara Hills found that most of their buyers were from the Tablelands.

Hence they decided to host their sales on the land, inviting those who would usually travel hours to buy stock, now only having to drive a couple of minutes.

Local buyers are encouraged to take advantage of this resource in the region.

Telpara Hills look forward to opening their gates to buyers in person and online next Saturday, September 18 at 157 Marnane Road, Tolga. For more information contact Stephen on 0439 532 132.
