Community groups secure grants

NEARLY $20,000 in grants from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) have been awarded to two Tablelands organisations.

The Ravenshoe Men’s Shed and the Tablelands Biodynamic and Organic Farmers’ Co-op are among 100 remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to benefit from another $1.2 million in grants, thanks to FRRR’s flagship Strengthening Rural Communities program.

The Men’s Shed will use its $9870 grant to install solar panels to reduce their power bills, while the Biodynamic and Organic Farmers’ Co-op will use its $10,000 grant to install 3-phase power to allow for its expansion.
