Council cash support for Savannah in the Round
MAREEBA Shire Council has approved a $5000 donation to support this year’s Savannah in the Round event.
Under the Community Partnership Program, council will provide the funds to Sound Australia to assist in delivering the festival.
Savannah in the Round 2025 has announced an impressive lineup of international and Australian country, pop, roots and rock artists, as well as Indigenous dance, storytelling, cultural displays/workshops, a fun fair, local produce stalls, and paddock to plate dining experiences.
The council has been a sponsor of Savannah in the Round since the inaugural festival in 2021. Last year’s festival attracted over 26,570 people over three, with more than 30,138 visitor nights being spent in the shire as a result of the event.
Sound Australia is expecting 37,000 people to this year’s event being held over 9-12 October.
