Future meetings are proposed for other central locations across the Tablelands to make it easier for farming and station residents to meet with the Mayor, Councillors, the CEO and senior council staff.

The visits will provide an opportunity for residents to raise local concerns, share ideas and connect with council representatives and other community members.

Mayor Kevin Cardew said it was important that Tablelands residents across the region were provided with meaningful opportunities to engage with council.

“We want to make it easier for people living in our more remote communities to have their say and speak directly with their elected representatives and council staff,” he said.

“We understand that distance can make it difficult for some residents to attend meetings or visit council facilities, so taking council out to these communities is an important step towards improving communication and ensuring local voices are heard.”

Council will also host its December ordinary council meeting at Mt Garnet, with the meeting scheduled for 17 December at the town hall. Residents attending will be invited to stay for a light lunch and an informal chat with council representatives.
