Cup visit boosts foundation

A VISIT from the iconic Melbourne Cup to Mareeba Turf Club last week has provided a funding boost for the Black Cockatoo Foundation. The Cup was the highlight of a special breakfast at the club which also featured Melbourne Cup winning jockey Robbie Dolan who claimed the trophy aboard Knight’s Choice.

The Cup was the highlight of a special breakfast at the club which also featured Melbourne Cup winning jockey Robbie Dolan who claimed the trophy aboard Knight’s Choice.

The Gateway Hotel also donated $1700 to the foundation which represented the proceeds from its 2025 Melbourne Cup luncheon.
