Decades of dance
THE Reef Hotel Casino is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an 80s-themed tribute weekend showcasing the sounds and styles of the decade.

Bigger Badder Big Noise will take audiences back to the 1980s with a performance inspired by the decade’s music and culture this Friday and Saturday evening.
The weekend is the second in a series of three “decade” weekends, with last weekend’s 70s event a hit with Disco Revolution.
Entertainment manager Bruce Stewart said the concept had been years in the making.
“I’ve always wanted to dedicate a whole month to the eras – 70s one weekend, 80s the next, then the 90s. This is our party year, so why not go big? If I had a great 60s band, I’d have locked that in too. Next time.”
The month concludes on 26 and 27 June with the return of the Playpen Reunion, featuring the 1990s configuration of Big Noise and Mr President.
All performances will be held at BAR36 and entry will be free, with no tickets required.
The venue is encouraging patrons to embrace the spirit of each decade, dressing for this weekend in 80s neon styles and next weekend in 90s-inspired looks.
