DISASTER preparedness, community information and family-friendly entertainment will feature at the Mareeba Drive-In’s Dinner and Disaster night on 16 October.

The free event, starting at 4pm, aims to help residents prepare for the upcoming weather season.

Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with emergency service personnel, pick up preparedness resources and learn practical tips for developing emergency plans, packing disaster kits and staying informed during severe weather events.

As part of the evening, community members can watch a special presentation of Stories of Jasper... 2 Years On, which reviews the impacts, recovery and lessons learned following Tropical Cyclone Jasper. It will be followed by the screening of the family movie The Wild Robot.
