Dive into pool pass
KEEN swimmers will have the chance to test out all of the region’s pools with a new multi-pass entry being developed for all facilities managed by Marlin Coast Swimming and Fitness.

Mareeba Shire Council endorsed the proposal, as well as new aquatic fees (an increase of 20 cents to Kuranda and Mareeba pools) during its meeting last Wednesday.
MCSF is proposing to implement a multi-visit pass to enable holders to use their pass at any eligible venue.
“This pass would enable a Mareeba Shire Council resident, if they are in Cairns, to go to Tobruk Pool or to go to Babinda,” a council spokesperson said.
“People who come up for a day trip can use the Mareeba pool for the splash park.”
Mayor Angela Toppin said the proposal was a great way to value add to the shire, and it would also improve use of facilities.
The details were still being worked out, the officer said, but would operate on a “tier system” based on what the facilities had to offer. In the report, the tier system would reflect the distinct amenities and service levels at each facility.
The report also advised that the Kuranda pool would close for two weeks from close of business Sunday 28 June until Monday 13 July for a thorough cleaning.
