Drag racing warm up
DRAG Racers from throughout North Queensland are preparing for the Springmount Raceway 2025 Track Championships with a Test & Tune/Race Ya Mate/Come Try Day to kick off the season on Saturday night.

Whether you’re a seasoned racer or a newcomer, this event welcomes everyone to experience the thrill of drag racing or to watch last year’s test champions and opponents knock the cobwebs out of their tailpipes.
The event will offer shaded viewing areas, food and a bar, while the region’s fastest cars and bikes race down the quarter-mile.
Nominations for competitors are open with no experience required, just a driver’s licence and a vehicle that can pass the scrutineering safety assessment.
Details can be found at www.springmountraceway.com along with the nomination form.
Spectators can get their tickets at the gate. If people are keen to be involved as a volunteer, email contact@springmountraceway.com to learn more about the positions and training available.
Round 1 of the 2025 Track Championship will be held from 16-18 May as a part of the NorthernNats motoring event. For three days, the best drag racers in North Queensland will battle it out on the quarter-mile drag strip along with some of the biggest burnout cars in Australia.
