Dressing up for rodeo season

SEVERAL businesses across Mareeba pulled out their best cowboy dress-up for the annual Mareeba Rodeo Window, Foyer, and Dress competition.

This year, Mareeba Kids Campus (Dunlop Street Campus) emerged victorious, decking their kindergarten with hay bales, a sideshow alley, and bulls.

On judging day, the team also bought two horses in for the morning, with kids head over heels in love with the visit.

This year’s best western-style dress by staff (eight or more people) was Apels Solicitors and Notary. Second place went to QT Early Learning, and third place to FlexiChoice.

For the small businesses in town, the best dressed (one to seven people) went to Smokemart, second place was Mareeba Kids Campus (Hastie Street Campus after-school care), and third, went to Rivers.

The best-decorated large foyer went to QT Early Learning, the second went to Millar Teitzel, and the third went to Prices Plus.

For the small foyer, Apels came out on top, Smokemart came in second, and Claude Cater Mensland came in third.

For the best-decorated shop window, Claude Cater Mensland came in first, Mareeba Property Management came in second, and Mareeba Leagues Club came in third.

All participants were congratulated for their efforts and bringing the festive spirit during the Mareeba Rodeo season.
