Early voting is now open
With the local government elections only weeks away the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) has released more information on how and where early voting can take place.

If you prefer to avoid the crowds then early voting is now available until Friday, March 27.
The ECQ has also announced extended polling hours for those who want to vote early.
Wednesday 18 March and Thursday 19 March 9am to 9pm
Saturday 21 March 9am to 5pm
Wednesday 25 March and Thursday 26 March 9am to 9pm
To vote early in the MSC elections:
Kuranda CWA Hall, 20 Thongon Street, Kuranda.
or Mareeba & Memorial Bowls Club, 41B Anzac Ave, Mareeba.
The returning officer for the Mareeba Shire is Suzanne Temple.

To vote early in the TRC elections:

The ECQ is also providing eligible voters, including those who identify as having an impairment, disability or a low level of literacy with access to telephone voting. Those eligible must register to cast a vote via telephone.

Registrations will open on Monday, 16 March 2020. The call centre will open from 9am to 5pm during early voting, with the hours being extended to 6pm on Friday, 27 March 2020 and will be open from 8am to midday on election day (Saturday, 28 March 2020).
