Elton tribute returns to Reef
A TRIBUTE to Sir Elton John will take over BAR36 at The Reef Hotel Casino later this month as part of the venue’s 30-year celebrations.

The performances form part of The Reef Hotel Casino’s 30th anniversary programming, with BAR36 hosting the live shows across the weekend.
The Elton John Experience will run for three nights from 29-31 May, featuring performances by pianist Greg Andrew.
The show will be held on Friday 29 May and Saturday 30 May at 9pm, with a special early performance on Sunday 31 May at 5.30pm. Entry is free.
Returning to Cairns, the production is described as “one of the most successful shows to grace the BAR36 stage”.
“The Elton John Experience brings all the glitz, glamour and iconic hits of Sir Elton John to the stage for three magnificent nights,” the organisers said.
Performed by Greg Andrew, the show recreates the music and style of the British artist, with a setlist spanning multiple decades of hits.
Songs featured in the performance include I’m Still Standing, Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting, Candle in the Wind, Daniel, Honky Cat, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me and Crocodile Rock.
The production is backed by a live band and aims to capture the sound and stage presence of Elton John’s concerts.
Greg Andrew has toured in more than 30 countries and is recognised as an Elton John tribute performer. His interest in music began with the song Your Song, which led him to study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
He has also performed at TRIBFEST UK in 2017.
Organisers say the show spans “all eras of Sir Elton’s remarkable career, from the heydays of the 70s to The Lion King soundtrack”, offering a mix of music for different generations.
The event is open to the public and does not require tickets.
