Evening of faith, family, food and fun
ORGANISERS are gearing up for the annual Feast of Our Lady of The Chain to be celebrated this Sunday.
The event starts with a mass at 2pm at St Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, followed by a procession of the statue through the streets.
Once the procession is complete, event goers are encouraged to return to the school oval where there will be an array of delicious Italian food and great fun for the family.
Activities on the oval, commencing at about 4pm, include giant games, knock-em-downs, and a colouring competition for the kids.
There’ll be an extravaganza of food with steakburgers, Italian sausages, beef sausages, hot chips and hot dogs, or enjoy some delicious gnocchi, pasta, cannoli and Italian sweets.
The event is fully licensed and patrons can enjoy live entertainment by Frank De Bellis and the talented performers from In2dance, starting between 4pm-4.30pm
Winners of the colouring in competition will be announced at 6.30pm, with a spectacular fireworks display to start at 8pm.
All are welcome.
On Saturday night, the Mareeba International Club will be hosting a Cabaret in support of the festival.
