The Mareeba Annuals are expecting to draw racing enthusiasts from all over to witness the event’s two biggest races; the prestigious Mareeba Cup and Mareeba Bracelet.

The Cup is a 2000m race worth $14,000 in total prize money, while the Bracelet is a sprint over 1200m worth $12,000 in total prize money.

Gates for the five-race card event will open at 11am this Saturday. There will also be the highly anticipated Fashions on the Field competition.

Punters will even be able to bet on the races through the Sportsbet app for the first time this year after the Mareeba Turf Club entered into a two-year partnership with the organisation.

Turf Club secretary Rhonda Stevens said they were thrilled with the partnership and were looking forward to a new level of energy and exposure for racing in rural and regional Queensland.

“This support is vital for our club and will mean a lot to the wider Mareeba community which has a proud history of racing,” she said.

“There are plenty of challenges facing racing clubs and we have been no exception.

“To be able to get this level of support from Sportsbet is a major boost for racing in our area and we’re excited to welcome new and old race fans with a fresh look and renewed momentum.”
