Meenakshi achieved exceptional results across a demanding subject load, including General English, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Drama, and Geography.

Her consistent high performance across Years 11 and 12 culminated in an ATAR of 92.9, earning her the prestigious Dux Trophy, along with a $500 bursary sponsored by Tablelands Regional Council.

In addition to her academic success, Meenakshi has received an early entry offer into teaching at James Cook University, as well as a prestigious Year 12 Education Scholarship from Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns (CEDC).

Principal Narelle Hunt said the achievements reflected Meenakshi’s dedication, perseverance, and strong passion for learning and education.

“Mount St Bernard College is immensely proud of Meenakshi and all she has achieved as our College Dux in 2025. Her dedication, curiosity, and genuine passion for learning have made her an outstanding role model within our school community,” she said.

“Receiving a CEDC scholarship to pursue a career in teaching is a remarkable accomplishment, and we are thrilled to see her take this next step toward becoming an inspiring educator.

“We wish her every success as she begins this exciting journey, and we look forward to the positive impact she will no doubt make in the lives of future students.”

Meenakshi is excited about what the future holds.

“I am so honoured to have been awarded both College Dux and this scholarship from CEDC in 2025,’ she said.

“These opportunities have allowed me to pursue further education at James Cook University and continue working towards making a difference in the lives of young people – something I am very passionate about.

“My time at Mount St Bernard College was immensely helpful and enjoyable, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced high school in such a supportive and nurturing environment.

“The most significant contributors to my journey were the incredible teachers who supported, encouraged and inspired me throughout my schooling.

“They motivated me to make a difference in the world through education, and I hope one day to become a teacher that students can look up to, just as I looked up to mine.”
