Expo shines light on disability services

LOCALS are invited to come along to the 2026 Tablelands Disability Expo later this month.
Hosted by Tablelands Regional Council and provider Disability Matters, the expo is a free event for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, and aims to strengthen community connection by bringing together people living with disability, their carers and families, as well as local service providers, volunteers and community organisations.
Tablelands Mayor Kevin Cardew said the event was aimed at connecting people living with disability with the local support and services they need.
“Events like this are so important, it’s critical we all do our best to ensure every person in our community has access to the services and support they need, especially in a regional location like the Tablelands,” he said.
“In addition to people living with disability across the Tablelands and their families and carers, I strongly encourage local community groups, disability service providers and health professionals supporting people with disability, or organisations interested in creating inclusive workplaces, to get involved and attend.”
The expo will be held on 30 September from 9am to 1pm at the Atherton International Club.
The club is accessible for all people, including the car park, bathrooms, and the temperature-controlled event space. The free event will include light catering, lucky door prizes, tote bags, and lots of fun and interactive activities, including face painting for attendees.
No registrations or bookings are required ahead of the event.
