With people travelling from all over to attend, the club is extending an invitation to the whole community to join in on celebrating the special occasion.

The celebrations will include a Ride Park day, club presentations, live music, 50th anniversary presentation and speeches, a video slide show full of memories, a Show n Shine, memorabilia, hot food, and more live music.

The Mareeba Motorcycle Club began five decades ago with the need to provide a safe place to ride, due to “youngsters obtaining minibikes and generally putting them to misuse around town”, according to president Frank Carusi.

“The club has evolved into a vibrant club that represents association and unity. The dedication of our committee has been paramount to this transformation,” he said.

“Their tireless efforts in planning events, managing resources and ensuring smooth operations have created an environment built for growth and success.

“Additionally, the significance of family involvement cannot be overstated. Families within our club have played a crucial role in shaping our culture by volunteering time, participating in fundraising, and organising events.”

The club’s success has seen it earn many recognitions, such as Motorcycling Queensland’s 3rd place Club of the Year in 2006 and 2013, and Club of the Year more recently in 2024.

The club is one of the northernmost motorcycle tracks in the state and spans 1.5km. Its composition of soil has evolved into a blend of sand, loam, and clay and has improved significantly over recent years.

“It’s the attention to detail from the track team that makes ours known as one of the best racing tracks in the North, if not the best, as quoted by many riders,” Carusi said.

Currently, the track features a whoop section with undulating bumps that tests riders’ control and timing, with a split lane design allowing for increased competitive opportunities.

The track can host up to 40 riders at once and has a special section modified to shorter distances for the youngsters in the 50cc demo division.

The club is inviting anyone who wants to join in on the celebrations to come along to 86 Springs Road this Saturday, with camping available both Friday and Saturday nights.
