Fire brigade to celebrate

JULATTEN Rural Fire Brigade will celebrate Rural Fire Service Queensland Week with an open day on Saturday.

The event, from 11am-2pm, will be held at the Julatten fire station at 34 Geraghty Park Road.

The event will particularly celebrate the valuable contribution of volunteers while promoting bushfire preparedness, community resilience and volunteer recruitment.

The day will include a formal welcome and address by First Officer Darryl Hobson, brigade information and volunteer recruitment displays, live portable fire extinguisher demonstrations, information on bushfire preparedness and the Permit to Light Fire process.

Kids will love the opportunity to view brigade firefighting appliances and equipment.

There will also be a community sausage sizzle and family-friendly activities.
