The forums are aimed at providing regular face-to-face opportunities to talk about some of council’s initiatives and to hear from stakeholders.

The first Agricultural Forum will be held from 10am-2pm on 12 May at the Mount Garnet Town Hall.

“Normally these forums would only go for an hour but we will have Andrew Cripps, the State Recovery Coordinator for North and Far North Tropical Low, at this event as part of his second round of engagement,” TRC chief executive officer

Dr Nikola Stepanov said.

“Our staff from roads, land protection and emergency management will be at the forum as well as representatives from Department of Primary Industries, Cape York NRM, Farmer to Lifeline Farmer, Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority and Rural Financial Counselling Service.

“We are excited to be standing up this forum and hope to see interested stakeholders there.”

Dr Stepanov said twice-yearly forums on tourism, business and development would also commence in the coming months.
