Forum for landholders
LANDHOLDERS from across Queensland and beyond will gather in Cairns on 7 October for the Our Natural Legacy: 2025 Landholder Forum to share experiences, build connections, and explore how conservation can become more viable and better supported.

Among the presenters is Mount Pleasant grazier Garlone Moulin who has set aside 10% of a 13,500-hectare property as a nature refuge – a legal mechanism that permanently safeguards nature on private land.
The forum will explore practical support and funding options for protecting nature on private land, succession and legacy planning, and first-hand accounts from landholders about their choices, challenges, and motivations.
