Jason Drury and his Tableland Mobile Pet Services is once again up for a national pet grooming award, after first winning in 2023 and being named as a finalist every year since.

“It feels bloody amazing,” Mr Drury said.

“To be able to go down and represent this area and show people that, even though we live in the sticks, we’ve actually got really good businesses up here, is just awesome.”

Mr Drury purchased the business in late 2019 and has been grooming all kinds of pets far and wide ever since – even goats and alpacas on occasion.

He said to be included as a finalist for four straight years was a big encouragement and that the awards were a positive initiative in a world that can oftentimes be tough.

“To me it means that it doesn’t matter how stressful life can be or how much the government puts us down, it just means that somewhere around Australia, there’s always somebody giving us small businesses a go and it actually means the world that we are getting backed by a company that wants to showcase our business styles,” he said.

“It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are, as long as you run a business, they just want to celebrate that.

“In this day and age it’s getting harder and harder to run a business, but when you get a recognition like this – yeah, it’s a pretty damn good feeling.”

Mr Drury will attend the awards ceremony in Sydney on 2 May.
