“Volunteers play a vital role in our sport and recreation sector, and having first aid skills helps build confidence in managing incidents when they arise,” Mayor Rod Marti said.

“This initiative supports safer participation in community sport and recreation while strengthening volunteer capability.

“This training provides practical, hands-on skills that support safer environments for participants, volunteers and clubs.

“It’s about strengthening the capability of our volunteers and supporting the continued success of local sport and recreation across the Tablelands.”

Training will be delivered face-to-face by qualified and accredited trainers, with participants receiving nationally recognised certification, including First Aid and CPR.
