The group has been holding the fundraiser for the past few years at the Atherton Car and Bike Show, but this year it will be held as a garage and car boot sale at the Men’s Shed itself.

Malanda Men’s Shed president Clem Bebee said it was a really important event for the organisation.

“It’s been a very good fundraiser for us. It allows us to sell off some items either made by some of our members or offloaded to us,” he said.

“It’s also an opportunity for people to come to the shed and see what we do. We’ll be selling some items made by some of the members, like leather work and wooden items, and people might even be able to watch them at work on the day.”

Mr Bebee said their items included lots of different things from handcrafted toys, timber mouldings and weatherboards for the renovators, to slabs of timber and wooden shelving, as well as steel and metal, various screws, bolts, nuts, drill bits, old tools, various spanners and sockets, materials for garden art, and other miscellaneous items.

“This is by no means the only stuff we have. Come for a look as we do have lots of interesting goodies,” he said.

The fundraiser will be held this Saturday at the Malanda Men’s Shed located at 21-23 Mary Street from 8am-2pm. There will also be a sausage sizzle with cakes and refreshments available.

Enquires can be made via email to malandamensshed@gmail.com.
