Garden Awards bloom in new event
MAREEBA & District Lions Garden Awards will be presented this weekend during an afternoon tea at the Cedric Davies Community Hall.
Organisers said all were welcome to an afternoon of celebration, community and creativity as the winners of the 2025 Lions Garden Awards are honoured.
The awards were cancelled in 2024 by the Mareeba Rodeo and were permanently dropped this year.
However, the Mareeba Lions Club offered to support the annual event, with Saturday marking the first awards under its banner.
During the afternoon there will be a Mini Cent Sale – with most prizes valued at around $100, as well as a delicious afternoon tea.
Organisers ask that for catering purposes, bookings be made prior to the event.
The Awards will be held between 1.30pm and 4.30pm, on Saturday 13 September, at the Cedric Davies Community Hub - Function Hall, 43 Anzac Avenue.
Tickets are $15 per person.
