Get involved in the parade

ENTRIES for the Mareeba Rodeo Downtown Parade are now open and organisers are encouraging everyone to get involved.

The parade, sponsored by Mareeba Mazda, is held on the Friday night before the rodeo, from 7.45pm. It not only showcases the Rodeo Queen entrants, but also highlights agricultural machinery, hot rod cars, community groups and bands.

After the parade completes two laps of Byrnes Street, the official ceremony and crowning of the 2026 Mareeba Rodeo Queen and Rodeo Princess takes place on the stage across from the cenotaph.

The categories are:

CATEGORY A: Motorised

• Best Rodeo Queen Entrant’s Float

• Best Display by a Group, Organisation or Trade

• Best Float with a Sporting Theme, and

  Advertisement

• Best Float with a Western Theme

CATEGORY B: Non-Motorised

• Best Turned Out Male Rider

• Best Turned Out Female Rider

• Best Dressed Riding Group, and

• Best Dressed Bicycle
