Get ready game aims to help kids
KIDS are being invited to play the “Get Ready Game”, beat the clock and win a prize these school holidays.
Tablelands Regional Council is hosting fun, inclusive and educational morning activities on preparing for disasters.
“These great activities are for all ages and abilities, and you’ll learn smart and practical ways you can prepare yourself and your family for disasters,” Local Disaster Management Group chair Rod Marti said.
“We’re in this together so take this opportunity to meet your local Disaster Management Team and learn how we can support each other during emergencies.
“We’ll give you tips and tools to take home, and the kids will receive the new Koko the Cockatoo’s Disaster Activity Book.
“Our libraries are a hub for learning and safety resources so, while you’re there, have a look at what else is on offer.”
The sessions are from 10am-12 noon at: Atherton Library on 30 September and 1 October; Herberton Library on 25 September; and Ravenshoe Library on 24 September.
