Kicking off on Friday 26 June, there are equestrian competitions, then from 12 noon, the show is open to the public to visit the wonderful animal nursery or watch the junior cattle competitions.

The ever-popular street parade launches the evening, with the theme Famous Roads testing the imagination of participants, before the official Opening Ceremony, and the 2026 Malanda Show Rural Ambassador and Junior Rural Ambassador titles announced.

Music will be on at stage 2, and the Malanda Gymnastics Club Cheerleading Squad will also make a return this year.

“These young ladies work so hard all year to bring a high-energy performance to the Show after the Street Parade,” a show organiser said. “We are so excited to have them back to our Friday night program.”

Saturday continues the fun with a program full of beef and dairy judging, showjumping, a new Anglo-Nubian goat section, ‘Superdog’ dog obedience, and woodchopping.

The evening features live music and entertainment and the Big Pub SPARtacular Fireworks display at 8.30pm.

If you miss the woodchopping on Saturday, try again on Sunday, the final show day, which will also have poultry judging, a pet parade, a grand parade, and a celebrity hand-milking competition.

As with last year, exhibitions and entries will be hosted in the ballroom at the BIG Pub, Malanda Hotel in the heart of town. Categories include agriculture, culinary art, horticulture, needlework and quilting, crafts - featuring the new Gumboot decorating and Magic Beanie displays, photography, and home brew.

And of course, sideshow alley will be ready and waiting for those who love thrills and chills.

The Malanda Show is on Friday 26 to Sunday 28 June.
