The Women’s Career Grants program aims to ease financial barriers to rejoining the workforce by providing financial assistance to help women transition back into jobs after being unemployed for six months or more.

The State Government program aims to reduce job-seeking costs, support sustainable employment, and strengthen women’s economic security.

With grants of up to $4,999, the initiative helps cover the costs of transitioning back into work for women who have not been in a job for half a year or more.

To be eligible applicants must be a woman aged 18 years or older, reside in Queensland, be an Australian citizen, be unemployed for six months or more and ready to re-enter the workforce, and provide the required evidence and not have received funding from the program previously.

Funding can be used towards workwear including office attire, uniforms, steel cap boots and other PPE, and equipment; technology such as a computer or laptop, printer/scanner, software or assistive technology and mobile phone; registered childcare; re-certification and/or training and relevant work licenses; and job readiness assistance including CV writing and interview preparation, personal grooming and transportation costs to attend interviews.

Applications for the second round are currently open.
