Girls gymnastics tryouts
A FREE tryout day will be held at the Mareeba Gymnastics Club next weekend for any girls wanting to give the sport a go.
Every child who attends the Girls Team Tryout Day will receive a free, trial gymnastics session delivered by two of the club’s advanced coaches and will be recommended into a suitable class within its program. There will also be another coach on hand to answer any questions parents may have.
“This is the first time we’ve run something like this, and it’s something we’re genuinely excited about,” junior team leader Dayna Pearce said.
“Gymnastics is such an incredible foundation sport. It builds strength, coordination, discipline and confidence, and can take kids on some pretty amazing athletic pathways.
“We’d love for local families to come in, give it a go, and see what opportunities are available. We’ve designed it to be a relaxed and supportive introduction to performance gymnastics and team pathways.”
