Groups get funds boost

TWO Tablelands community groups are among 71 Australia-wide that have been successful in obtaining a grant from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal.

The Yungaburra Men’s Shed received $10,000 for a new Nutrition and Wellbeing Program, aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of older men through a healthy living program featuring cooking workshops, nutrition education and shared comm-unity meals.

Atherton Performing Arts received $9679 to purchase headset microphones for actors which will enhance community theatre per-formances and support young performers.

In total, $1,025,724 in grants from FRRR will go toward community-led projects across Australia, valued at more than $2.4 million.
