Growers to gather for gala
LOCAL growers will gather for a gala dinner next month where the 2026 Charlie Nastasi Farmer of the Year will be announced.
The dinner is a highlight on the annual calendar for the agricultural sector as well as being a fundraiser for local charities.
“A night like this gives the industry and our supporters a chance to reflect and celebrate our success, despite the challenging environment in which we farm in,” FNQ Growers president Joe Moro said.
“It also gives us an opportunity to recognise one of our peers, with the Charlie Nastasi Farmer of the Year Award in honour of one of the pillars of our industry.”
The dinner will be held at the Mareeba International Club on Friday 4 September, with pre-dinner drinks from 5.30pm and entertainment by Shandell.
