Pine Ridge Retreat, with views over Lake Barrine, is now vying to win the Australian Housing Awards in April.

The coveted 2025 HIA North Queensland Home of the Year was awarded Cairns builder Ash Moseley Homes for the stunning luxurious Pine Ridge Retreat residence late last year, which now means it will progress to the national awards.

Featuring four pavilion-style rooflines linked by glass walkways and a cantilevered main level, the home takes full advantage of its hillside position, capturing panoramic city views and glimpses of lush rainforest.

“This home redefines luxury living through its bold design and meticulous craftsmanship and is a stunning example of scale, sophistication, attention to detail and exceptional workmanship,” HIA North Queensland executive director Peter Fry said.

“Predominantly built on one level, the home cantilevers over the ridge with an open-plan design that seamlessly connects all areas, creating a sense of grandeur and openness.”

Mr Fry described Pine Ridge Retreat as “a masterpiece that perfectly balances functionality and architectural ambition with the art of luxurious living”.

“The winning property is a stunning example of scale, sophistication, attention to detail and exceptional workmanship,” he said.

“Built predominantly on one level, the home cantilevers over the ridge with an open-plan design that seamlessly connects all areas, fostering a sense of spaciousness and connection.”

The home will now represent the region at the HIA Australian Housing Awards on the Gold Coast in April.
