Huge turnout for Muay Thai fight night
AROUND 400 people turned out for Spirit Muay Thai’s (SMT) epic fight night at the weekend, with some quality bouts providing plenty of entertainment for the crowd.
The local gym’s fourth event was a great success, drawing a massive crowd and delivering a powerful mix of excitement and high-level Muay Thai action at the Mareeba International Club.
The event featured a full lineup of bouts, from young juniors to experienced adult fighters. SMT coach Rosario Signorino was very pleased with the success of the event.
“Every athlete stepped into the ring with heart, respect, and determination, showcasing the hard work they put in week after week,” he said.
“The atmosphere was electric, with technical exchanges, strong performances, and unforgettable moments throughout the night.
“We would like to extend a special thank you to all the gyms that joined the event and are helping grow Muay Thai across the Far North Queensland region.
“A huge acknowledgement also goes to the International Club, who provided excellent food and drinks for the crowd, adding even more value to the evening.
“Also, a sincere thank you to the Mareeba community, who once again showed incredible unity and support by attending in such large numbers despite the weather conditions.”
The night closed with great satisfaction for the entire SMT team, confirming the growth of Muay Thai in the area and the rise of a new generation of talented young fighters.
