January a rainy month
MAREEBA recorded nearly 400mm of rain in January, with 286mm falling in just one week.
The town recorded 397mm during the month, with the heaviest rain received on 19 January when 130mm fell.
Atherton also had a good soaking during the month, with 445mm of rainfall recorded of which 120mm fell on 15 January.
Last week, Tinaroo Falls Dam was still over the spillway at 103.9%.
