Lakeside home a big winner
A CUSTOM-designed home that captures panoramic views of Lake Barrine has won the top gong at the 2025 HIA Cairns Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.

Cairns-based builder Ash Moseley Homes won the prestigious 2025 HIA Cairns Home of the Year for a breathtaking custom-designed residence, Pine Ridge Retreat.
“The winning property is a stunning example of scale, sophistication, attention to detail and exceptional workmanship,” HIA North Queensland executive director Peter Fry said.
“Built predominantly on one level, the home cantilevers over the ridge with an open-plan design that seamlessly connects all areas, fostering a sense of spaciousness and connection.”
Mr Fry described Pine Ridge Retreat as “a masterpiece that perfectly balances architectural ambition with the art of luxurious living.”
CCW Cabinet Works were awarded both HIA Cairns Kitchen of the Year and HIA Cairns Bathroom of the Year for their work on Pine Ridge Retreat.
The kitchen showcases modern luxury, with a stunning porcelain island bench and matt white soft-close cabinetry.
The bathroom features a sleek design with natural light, a floating vanity, and panoramic views from a freestanding bath, creating a blend of interior elegance and outdoor serenity.
Major winners from the Cairns awards now progress to the 2025 HIA North Queensland Housing, Kitchen & Bathroom Awards to be held in Townsville on 8 November, with the opportunity to then represent the region at the HIA Australian Housing Awards on the Gold Coast in April 2026.
