Landslip works

WORKS on three upslope landslips down the range from the Mossman-Mount Molloy Road lookout will begin on Monday.

To allow the safe movement of heavy machinery and progress of reconstruction works, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will reduce a section of road – from the lookout to a traffic control point about 1.5km towards Mossman – to single lane.

TMR says it will minimise delays for road users as much as possible but they may experience delays of up to 10 minutes during works.

Meanwhile, rock fill has been completed at the downslope slip 1.5km from the lookout (towards Mossman) after extensive slope stabilisation works.

Pavement repairs have been completed, with guardrail restoration currently underway ahead of the site reopening to lanes sometime this month, subject to site and weather conditions.
