Atherton High celebrates academic achievements

STUDENTS were rewarded for their hard work and commitment last week at the Atherton State High School annual presentation night.

Students were recognised for their prowess in school subjects as well as extracurricular activities including: sports, community engagements and all around attitude in upholding the schools values.

There were four standout reward recipients at this year’s presentation including both the junior and senior Dux, Sportspersons of the Year and the Student of the Year award.

The 2019 Senior Dux was awarded to Nikolas Edsen and the Junior Dux was Marni Dennis. Alisha Wells was awarded with the Senior Sportsperson of the Year while Amy Hunter was awarded Junior Sportsperson of the year.

The ‘Student of the Year’ award was received by Jordan Dennis.

The ‘Student of the Year’ award is given to a student who consistently achieves very high academic results and participates in a variety of academic, sporting, leadership, cultural and social events with all the staff and students at the school including the community.
