THE Australian Future Agro Challenge (AusFAC) is back for its fourth year as the Atherton Tablelands will play host to the much-anticipated event over the first weekend of November.

AusFac is the Australian arm of a global competition, providing participants the chance to showcase their food and agricultural innovations as they vie for the Australian Agripreneur of the Year award.

The winner gets an expenses paid entry (including travel) to the global Future Agro Challenge, where they have access to international food and agtech mentors, clients, investors, and corporate contacts, providing them with a massive opportunity to expand their startup throughout the world.

The event will also consist of prominent members within the industry, with its main guest speaker KPMG Melbourne Partner and Head of KPMG’s AgriTech division Ben van Delden.

Mr van Delden has lead business and farm tours across the world to identify the leading technologies and farming practices to help Australia’s agriculture industry.

In addition to Mr van Delden, Queensland’s Chief Entrepreneur Leanne Kemp is making her first visit to our region to become an AusFAC Judge and guest speaker at a function for local businesses.

The competition will consist of innovative and fundable startup businesses in the following industries - Food tech, Ag tech, Agroforestry and husbandry, Food or beverage product or retail, Food security and sustainability, Food waste, Nutrition and health, Food safety, Packaging and logistics, Agriculture education, Agriculture tourism and Agriculture production and processing.
