Early election update

Katter Australia Party (KAP) Member Shane Knuth will hold on to the seat of Hill.

Katter Australia Party (KAP) Member Shane Knuth will hold on to the seat of Hill.

As of 9pm, Mr Knuth had 49.7 per cent of the vote with 29 per cent counted.

In the preference counts Mr Knuth lead with a massive 75.4 per cent of the vote with a +5.67 per cent swing.

In the seat of Cook, it looks as though Labor’s Cynthia Lui will hang onto her seat.

On first preference votes, Ms Lui leads with 48.6 per cent of the vote with a swing of +7 per cent.

LNP Candidate Edward “Nipper” Brown has 18.2 per cent of the vote,
and KAP’s Tanika Parker has 13.8 per cent of the primary vote.

On preference counts, Ms Lui leads with 54.5 per cent over Tanika Parker on 45.5 per cent.

In the seat of Barron River, incumbent ALP candidate Craig Crawford looks set to hold his seat against the LNP’s Linda Cooper with 40.4 per cent to 36.3 per cent of the respectively.
