Fresh St IGA named best store in the world
ATHERTON’S Fresh St Market IGA has beaten out over 1000 other IGA stores worldwide to effectively be crowned the number one store in the world.
The local produce store has won the coveted title of IGA Australian International Retailer of the Year for 2020.
This recognition follows the stores previous awards including National Retailer of The Year, SUPA IGA Store of the Year, SUPA IGA Grocery & General Merchandise Department of the Year and SUPA IGA Fresh Produce Department of the Year at the 2019 IGA Australia Awards.
Store owner Michael Shakes was over the moon to be named the best IGA store in the world.
“Every day we strive to offer best in class standards for our customers, selling high quality, good value products supported by excellent customer service in our store,” he said.
“Taking out this award acknowledges all the hard work, commitment and passion of our entire team who collectively make this store what it is, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
Fresh St Market IGA has been widely and popularly known for their outstanding fresh produce and meat sections, sourcing and providing fresh locally grown produce.
They also opted to not add extra self-checkouts and instead give those important jobs to locals and recently even switched to recyclable packaging and energy efficient refrigeration.
